1972 Jim Palmer
I won't lie. This is my favorite Palmer card and it's not as miscut as the auto crop feature on my scanner would lead you to believe.
I'll probably break down at some point and try for the entire 1972 set, of which I have only this card.
1972 Topps is just so darn eye-catching, isn't it?
I'll flaunt the flip side for all ya'll too. Enjoy!
I'll also take a moment to point out that I don't have any of Palmer's 1960s cards, and as you can see, I'm also missing 1971. If you've got one of these, let's talk!

Nice! I love that his was a 15 game winner in the bigs before he lost it and went to the minors for two years... Orioles management actually sent Curt Blefary down with him so he would have a big league catcher to work with... I do like that card, I'm a little jealous... I only have a couple cards from the 70s, but not that old.
ReplyDeleteYeah, you know, I was looking at the back of the cards and noticed he was down in the minors. I wasn't sure why or what had happened. Nowadays you just assume arm injury or something.
ReplyDeleteI'm still awestruck by the sheer number of complete games (20).
