So how did one get Topps Traded cards back in the day? Were they available in packs? I've got not clue where this one came from, but I found it while combing through yet another box of mid-80s cards rescued from the depths of my parents basement.
I'm also intrigued as to why Topps made the red backs nearly a fluorescent pink on the back of the Traded series.
I can't help but be reminded of the Bonds RC when I see that yellow Pirates text. I bought three sets just to get the Bonds card. (Oops) I think these cards were only available by buying a set. There weren't any packs like they make today.
ReplyDeleteYou could only buy the set. I sent away for a couple of the early traded sets ('82 and '83). I also bought the '91 one as a set, but I can't remember where/how.
